Being thin but having a big belly
According to the research conducted in the College of Texas, the symptoms of cardiovascular disease increase with the increase in the size of the abdomen and the size of the waist circumference compared to the hip circumference. This confirms previous researches that proved that abdominal size and not overall body obesity is one of the risk factors in the occurrence of heart diseases.
A survey of 2744 people showed that waist circumference of 81 cm for women and 94 cm for men, regardless of height, indicates a serious increase in the risk of various diseases, especially cardiovascular diseases. The results of a recent study indicated that hardening of the arteries (arteriosclerosis), which is related to the occurrence of cardiovascular diseases, is more common in people with large bellies.
Importantly, the researchers found that even if the body weight remained within the normal range, increasing the low-risk cycle increased the damage to the arteries. In addition, the possibility of calcium deposition in people whose waist circumference to hip circumference is higher is twice as high as those whose ratio is lower.
