Age Gracefully With This Antioxidant-Rich Longevity Smoothie

Turn back time and fight back wrinkles with this antioxidant-rich longevity smoothie! It utilizes some of the highest antioxidant-rich foods to help fight free radicals that normally advance skin aging (wrinkles and atypical pigmentation). Antioxidants also repair DNA damage, one of the main contributors as to why we age in the first place.

I love this smoothie because pomegranate contains one of nature’s most concentrated source of antioxidants. Pomegranate also improves endothelial cell function (the cells that line arterial walls). Another one of my favourite additions in this smoothie is astragalus root powder. This herb boosts production of telomerase, an enzyme that replaces short bits of DNA (telomeres) that are crucial in the process of cell replication, cancer, and aging.

Antioxidant-Rich Longevity Smoothie Recipe

Ingredients:

– 1 cup pomegranate seeds
– 1 cup organic blueberries (frozen or fresh)
– 1 tbsp. acai berry powder
– 1 tsp. astragalus root powder
– 1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
– 2 cups leafy greens

Method:

Put all ingredients in a blender, such as the Vitamix and enjoy immediately to preserve antioxidants.
