AIDS kills more women every day!

AIDS or human acquired immunodeficiency virus is one of the most dangerous viruses that mankind has ever seen. This virus is transferred from animals to humans and will lead to death by disrupting the function of the immune system. Various statistics show the increasing number of women who have been caught by this virus! But what is the cause? Stay with Dr. Salam.
The head of the AIDS Research Center said about the reason for the growth of AIDS among women in recent years: the growth of AIDS among women is mostly due to sexual relations and uncontrolled sexual behaviors. Of course, it should be noted that in the transmission of AIDS through sex, both parties are involved and transmission takes place.
AIDS is considered as one of the most dangerous diseases at the level of societies, which is spreading day by day among people and transferring from one person to another, seeking to perform risky behavior.
AIDS occurs in different ways, sexual, injection through a contaminated syringe and transmission from mother to fetus, and every year a large number of people face its problems and injuries.
Dr. Mino Mahrez, infectious disease specialist and head of Imam Khomeini Hospital’s AIDS Research Center, said about the exact statistics of people infected with this disease: Regarding the statistics of this disease, which is announced every year by the Ministry of Health, we currently have about 66 We have 1,000 AIDS patients, of which nearly 30,000 have been identified.
While announcing that a higher percentage of AIDS patients are men, he stated: In announcing the statistics, because we use the cumulative method, most of the time, our epidemic has been injection drug addicts, a significant percentage of whom are men, and therefore in the statistics We see that in the measurement of people with AIDS, men take more part.
This doctor said about the reason for the growth of AIDS among women in recent years: the growth of AIDS among women is mostly due to sexual relations and uncontrolled sexual behaviors. Of course, it should be noted that in the transmission of AIDS through sex, both parties are involved and transmission takes place.
Mahrez declared uncontrolled sexual relations as one of the main causes of AIDS and said: Unfortunately, there is no public awareness and public education, and in fact it is something like zero percent. Even if there is a little awareness, it is not continuous and of course people suffering from this disease do not have any knowledge to treat it and they are subjected to a lot of stigmas and social pressure. The media should try to raise awareness in the field of treatment and, most importantly, prevention of this disease.
The head of the AIDS Research Center of Imam Khomeini Hospital, in response to the question why AIDS testing is not in the list of necessary tests for marriage, said: This disease has a long-term course and even the tests may not show a sign that a person is suffering from it. But in reality, this disease exists in the person. This is the main feature of AIDS.
This doctor also stated: If someone has high-risk behaviors, he can do this test by his own choice and voluntarily and inform his partner as well. In these cases, it is better to have proper consultations and increase the level of awareness of both parties. Now we even have cases where men and women are married to each other, positive and negative. It means that one of them has AIDS and these can be controlled with proper counseling.
Mahrez also said about the cost of treatment for this disease and insurance coverage for AIDS patients: Today, the Ministry of Health has set up nearly 200 counseling centers across the country, and testing for this disease is done completely free of charge by these centers. Also, the medical expenses of the people whose disease is diagnosed are free.
About how many percent of the risk of AIDS transmission from mother to fetus can be controlled, he said: If the mother’s disease is diagnosed early, over 98% of the disease transmission to the fetus can be prevented, and many pregnant women are now required to undergo tests. It is assumed that on this basis we will not have an infected child.
At the end, Mino Mahrez noted: Correct training and proper information should be provided to increase public awareness in order to solve a significant part of this problem.
