Calm Yourself with this Mind-Soothing Smoothie (Say Good-Bye To Stress!)

We all get frazzled, nervous, anxious, stressed out, and tense sometimes, so that’s why I created this mind-soothing smoothie – to help calm your mind, your body, and everything in between.

This smoothie is loaded with minerals like magnesium (particularly from the figs), a necessary co-factor for hundreds of enzymes, and an important mineral for dealing with stress. Bananas and papaya are also great for helping calm the mind.

Bananas are rich in B vitamins, necessary for proper nerve and brain support, as well as tryptophan, which is converted to serotonin (the “happy chemical”) in the brain.

Papaya helps control our progesterone levels (steroid hormone produced in the brain, testicles and ovaries), helping to ease pain and produce an overall sense of euphoria. Stress can make progesterone levels fall out of balance, so phytosterols in papaya help tremendously!

Mind-Soothing Smoothie Recipe

Ingredients:

– 2 ripe bananas
– 3 fresh or dried figs (make sure to soak the dried figs if you are using dried)
– 1 cup papaya
– 1 cup coconut water or regular distilled water
– 1/2 tsp. fresh vanilla bean powder

Method:

Blend the above ingredients in a high-speed blender and enjoy!
