Premature menopause and these signs and symptoms
How do we know that we are facing menopause and what signs in the body warn us? How do middle-aged women understand this? What factors contribute to early menopause?
Menopause is one of the life stages of every woman, which happens after years of reproductive system activity. Since a woman has experienced hormonal changes, monthly bleeding, pregnancy and breastfeeding over the years, it is a bit difficult for her to bear the changes of the menopause years, but paying attention and following some points will make it easier to pass this stage.
According to Khorasan newspaper, Dr. Maleeha Mir Shahpanah, a surgeon and gynecologist, says about this stage and the points that must be observed: Menopause is the reduction and emptying of the follicle reserve (eggs), which leads to the cessation of menstruation. The cessation of menstruation for 12 months is referred to as menopause, which is associated with an increase in FSH hormone and occurs in 90% of women between the ages of 45 and 55, and 10% of women undergo menopause under the age of 45, which is called early menopause.
The effective factors in menopause are:
1- Genetic factors (for example, usually mothers and daughters go through menopause at the same age.)
2- Environmental factors (smoking, alcohol, body mass (obesity-thinness), economic and social issues)
Menopause symptoms
1- The increase in FSH is associated with a decrease in estrogen and progesterone and male hormones (testosterone), but due to the elimination of estrogen and progesterone hormones, generally after menopause, the same small amount of male hormone that is secreted from the interstitial tissue of the ovary causes male symptoms. which is the growth of male hair on the face and the hoarseness of the voice that appears after a few years of menopause.
2- Hot flashes caused by estrogen reduction. It is characterized by intense heat that starts from the head and face and may spread to the whole body, and at the same time the person experiences heart palpitations, followed by sweating and then shivering; The rate of repetition of this state is different in people. In general, these symptoms are more severe in the early years of menopause and subside within 3 to 5 years. Constipation disrupts the sleep rhythm.
3-Dryness of the body skin and vaginal mucosa, which leads to painful intercourse and is caused by the lack of estrogen hormone production.
4- Osteoporosis, which occurs in the long term and if not treated, leads to disability and fracture even without injury.
5- Mental issues such as feeling tired and low energy, irritability, depression, and impaired concentration
The set of menopausal symptoms after pregnancy and breastfeeding causes women to lose their ability and become disabled at a young age, so it is necessary to treat menopausal symptoms.
treatment :
1- Administration of calcium and vitamin D continuously until the end of life
2-Hormonal treatments (estrogen and progesterone) or the use of phytoestrogens (substances containing plant estrogens such as soy) are still controversial about their advantages and disadvantages.
3- Using conjugated estrogen creams is very effective for vaginal dryness.
4- To control cramps, estrogen therapy and clonidine and methyldopa and some antidepressants are recommended with the doctor’s opinion.
