Drink Your Way To A Healthier Heart and Immune System with this Blood Orange Ginger Juice
Blood oranges are one delicacy I always take advantage of in the winter and early spring months. This blood orange ginger juice is incredibly high in anthocyanins, the flavonoid pigments that give blood oranges their beautiful cherry-red colour.
Anthocyanins, which are a type of antioxidant, help prevent blood vessel ruptures and improve functioning of the arteries. They also help prevent oxygen damage to cells, thereby strengthening the immune system, and reduce inflammation throughout the body.
Blood Orange Ginger Juice Recipe
– 5 blood oranges, peeled
– 1 lemon, peeled
– 3 inches fresh ginger root
– 1/2 cucumber
– 1 cup young thai coconut water
Run all of the above ingredients through a juicer (except the coconut water), and mix with coconut water afterward. Enjoy!
