Karami said: “Children who have difficulty moving on their toes due to neuromuscular problems and cerebral palsy. If this problem is not resolved by the age of 8, even Botox injections and surgery are needed.
“Children who walk on their toes due to genetics and do not have neuromuscular problems often recover on their own at the age of 2 to 3,” said the research deputy of the orthopedic department of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences.
Pointing out that flat feet are one of the most common reasons for visiting a pediatric orthopedist, he said: “It is interesting to know; The arch of the foot often develops over time and is formed over the age of 10, and flat feet are not a concern for parents if they do not cause side and nerve problems.
Karami pointed out: If flat feet are associated with fatigue and foot pain, the use of special medical shoes is recommended, but there is no cure. Of course, if this problem is very severe, at the age of 8 to 12, we recommend a cosmetic facial surgery. This is often done on an outpatient basis.
