If you have male infertility, read these things to fix it
The recent discussions about the increase in infertility statistics among Iranian men have caused many concerns. Many doctors believe that there is no increase in statistics and only because of the peak of the general level of knowledge of society, the discovered elements of infertility have increased. On the other hand, many experts believe that due to various reasons, such as complications of the modern era, excessive use of cigarettes, improper nutrition, air pollution, etc., we are facing an increase in the number of infertility. Anyway, the important factor is that we should have a healthy and suitable lifestyle considering all the possibilities
The possibility of our infertility will decrease. In this article, we will tell you some tips about healthy life and proper nutrition to increase the probability of fertility.
Where does male infertility come from?
The lack of sperm or its very low number is the main cause of infertility in men, and finding its origin is difficult and time-consuming because several factors affect the function of the testicles. Medicines that the mother takes during pregnancy or diseases that a person suffers from before puberty and most importantly some urinary tract infections are major factors that affect male infertility. Normally, more than 5% of a man’s sperm must have a normal shape in order to be considered fertile, while infertile people, this amount is less than 1%. Each time, about 300 million sperm are released from the male body, 300 of which move towards the egg, and finally only one sperm reaches the egg, and the rest are removed during a process. Even from a molecular point of view, it is possible to eliminate the smallest problem of sperm. The interesting point is that in some cases when the egg is not yet released, the sperm sticks to the beginning of the fallopian tube and waits, and as soon as the egg is released, it moves towards the egg at a very high speed with the signal it receives from the egg. Sperms can survive in the uterus for 2 days or more while maintaining their fertility.
These make men infertile
– Malnutrition and anemia
– Severe stress
– Smoking, which usually causes a decrease in the number of sperm and their poor mobility. Recent research has shown that when both men and women smoke, their chances of infertility increase by 64%.
– Long-term use of cannabis by men causes a decrease in healthy sperm and an increase in defective sperm.
Vitamin C deficiency causes sperms to stick together and this condition causes male infertility.
– Some antibiotics temporarily reduce the number and mobility of sperm in men. Some of these antibiotics include erythromycin, nitrofurazone or nitrofurantoin.
– The testicles should not be overheated. That’s why men should not wear tight underwear. Men with infertility problems should not use hot showers and saunas, and working in a hot environment is not useful for them.
Spacing sexual activity (3 to 6 days a week) increases the volume and power of fertility, but if there is a long break in sexual activity, it causes the sperms to become old and weak.
– Varicocele disease (coils of extra veins around the seminal tube and cause excessive heat, which will damage the sperms and kill them).
Genital tract infection (for example, prostatitis and testicular inflammation)
– Blows to the testicles
Obese men have less chance
Researchers have reported the existence of a relationship between obesity and infertility in men and noted that the probability of becoming a father is lower in obese men than in other men.
By examining 87 men between the ages of 19 and 48, the researchers found that the body mass index of men with infertility is higher than that of men who have children. Body mass index is the result of dividing weight in kilograms by the square of height in meters and is one of the ways to evaluate people’s fitness.
Modify your diet
You are probably one of the people who seem to have a healthy diet and are not deficient in nutrients, but it is very likely that a nutritional analysis of your diet will show that you are getting one or more nutrients less than you need. To increase the probability of fertility, all nutrients should be consumed as needed, and among them, the most important ones are: essential fatty acids, which are found in vegetable oils, seed oils, and nuts, and are needed to maintain hormonal balance. Some vitamins, including vitamins E and C, are destroyed by the lack of these vitamins. Of course, the element of overlap is very important in this.
In 1978, the effects of nutrition and other environmental factors on fertility were widely investigated. In this study, hundreds of couples followed a basic diet along with vitamin and mineral supplements and were examined for urinary tract infection, heavy metal poisoning, and anti-fertility toxicants. The results showed that finally, by correcting nutritional factors, 80% of couples with a history of infertility had healthy children.
Maybe you are short-tempered
Of all the nutrients associated with fertility, zinc is perhaps the most important. This mineral is essential for the proper functioning of hundreds of enzyme systems in the body. Some of these enzyme systems are related to fertility in men and women. For example, the growth and development of the uterine wall depends on zinc, and this mineral is needed for sperm production in men. The analysis of the minerals in the hair of infertile people shows that a large number of women who do not get pregnant or have successive miscarriages are zinc deficient. Most people’s diet does not provide the zinc they need, and conditions such as stress, smoking, air pollution, and alcohol consumption also deplete the body’s resources.
zinc resources
Approximately, there are 3 to 5 mg of zinc per gram of meat. By eating every 100 grams of lentils or peas or whole wheat, you can get 4 to 5 mg of zinc to the body. Pumpkin seeds contain a lot of zinc per 100 grams. It contains 5.6 to 5.7 milligrams of zinc. There are 3 milligrams of zinc in every 100 grams of wheat bran or every 100 grams of corn. Each 100 grams of wheat germ contains 17 milligrams of zinc, in other words, it is rich in zinc, and it is recommended for all people to eat it. There are 8.7 milligrams of zinc in every 100 grams of calf liver.
Do not despair
Natural ways are now available to increase the chances of fertility. The point that couples should know is that according to current research, even damaged sperms are capable of conceiving an egg, so there is no point in despairing about fertility. Specialist doctors remind that before any artificial insemination procedure, people should implement the recommendations related to nutrition and having enough rest and doing proper sexual activity for 3 months, because it is possible to recover your fertility without the need for artificial methods.
