Pesticides are the enemy of men’s sexual power
Urology specialists have repeatedly emphasized that men should avoid pesticides in order to take care of their sexual power and not let the harmful effects of these substances cause infertility.
Eating a lot of fruits and vegetables that have been grown with pesticides can reduce men’s sperm.
Researchers studied the sperm samples of 155 men who went to a fertility clinic with their wives between 2007 and 2012. These men answered 131 questions about their diet; Including how much and how often they eat 38 types of fruits and vegetables such as apples, avocados and cantaloupe. The researchers then compared the answers to USDA statistics on how much pesticide remains on produce on the market.
For example, peppers, spinach, strawberries, apples, and pears typically had high levels of pesticides, but peas, beans, grapefruit, and onions had low or moderate levels of pesticides.
The results of the research showed that half of the men ate at least 3.5 servings of fruits and vegetables per day. The number of servings did not affect sperm quality, but men who ate at least 1.5 servings of high-pesticide products a day had nearly half their sperm count compared to those who consumed less than half a serving of such products. Also, the number of sperms of men in the first group was two thirds of the normal number of sperms.
George Chavarro of Harvard University, who led the study, said: “This does not necessarily mean a decrease in fertility. “We are continuing our work to understand how much these effects on sperm quality affect fertility.”
