If you’re addicted to caffeine, then these iced coffee alternatives will definitely help you kick your habit.
Maca powder is known for helping increase stamina. In fact, many athletes take maca for heightened performance. Just a small amount is required to help improve energy levels big-time. In addition, green matcha powder is another great energy-booster, and contains 137 times more antioxidants than regularly brewed green tea. It is rich in fibre, chlorophyll and vitamins and enhances mood and aids in concentration!
Not only that, but most fancy iced coffees you buy in coffee shops are loaded with unnecessary calories and sugar, which you can avoid if you simply make your own. Adjusting your taste buds may take time, but your body (and mind) will thank you!
Ingredients:
Chocolate Mood Booster:
– 1 cup young thai coconut water
– 1 cup raw almond milk
– 1/2 cup ice
– 1 tbsp. raw carob powder (or cacao if you prefer a little more stimulation)
– 1 tsp. maca powder
– 1-2 tsp. honey, maple syrup or yacon syrup
Green Energy Booster:
– 1 cup young thai coconut water
– 1 cup raw almond milk
– 1/2 cup ice
– 1 tbsp. green matcha powder
– 2 tsp. barley grass juice powder (my favourite is by Daily Green Boost)
– 1 tsp. vanilla bean powder
– 1-2 tsp. honey, maple syrup or yacon syrup
Method:
For each drink, blend the ingredients together except for the ice and sweetener. If you don’t have a blender, you can also whisk the ingredients in a large jar. Add the ice, and then sweetener to taste. Enjoy!
