Harms of machete on the health of mourners

Baqiyatullah University of Medical Sciences professor said: Our strict advice to the people is to avoid machete in order to protect their health and those around them and to prevent the transmission of hepatitis B and C in the society in order to have a healthier society.
Alaviyan added: “Despite these recommendations, every year during the days of mourning, we still encounter cases of transmission of hepatitis during the days of mourning, the cause of which is machete-cutting. My suggestion is that a special health case should be established for people who carry out machete-cutting.” And mutilation should be included as a negative record in their medical records, and the blood transfusion organization would not accept these people for blood donation.
He said: In the past years, with health measures, including hepatitis B vaccination, which were carried out in the country, the rate of transmission and new cases of this disease in the country has decreased drastically. The prevalence of this disease in Iran has reached below two percent and the new cases of this disease have decreased a lot. In the case of hepatitis C, the prevalence of this disease has reached below half percent, and the plan of the Ministry of Health and the country’s hepatitis network is to eradicate and eliminate hepatitis C in the country by 1410, and hepatitis B will also be seriously controlled. .
He said: “The solution to achieve this goal is that in addition to health measures such as vaccination and improving the level of public health in society, people should also become aware of the methods of transmission of this disease and know the scientific points about the transmission of this disease.”
