Scarlet fever in young children

Drug treatment with antibiotics
Scarlet fever is usually treated with a 10-day course of antibiotics (penicillin or amoxicillin tablets and liquid antibiotics for children), and for people who are allergic to penicillin, alternative antibiotics such as erythromycin are used.
Fever and other symptoms usually disappear within 24 hours of starting antibiotics, but it is important to complete the course of treatment to ensure that the infection is completely cleared.
Home remedies to help treat scarlet fever:
Drink plenty of cool liquids
• Eat soft foods (in case of sore throat)
• Take paracetamol to lower high temperature and fever
Use calamine lotion or antihistamine pills to relieve itching
