Take vaginal dryness seriously

Observing vaginal dryness, it is better to think about menopause because it is one of the most important signs and symptoms of premature menopause. How can this complication be treated and what are the various medical recommendations in this regard?

“One of the most common symptoms of menopause is vaginal dryness,” said one obstetrician.

“One of the most common symptoms of menopause is vaginal dryness, and this problem may occur with age,” said Dr. Azita Saffarzadeh Kermani, an obstetrician and gynecologist who specializes in infertility and laparoscopy and a faculty member at Tehran University of Medical Sciences. “Menopause occurs suddenly.”

“Because the moisture in the vagina causes the vaginal tissues to function properly and be elastic, and most postmenopausal women experience sudden vaginal dryness, this can come as a surprise to them.” “Therefore, being aware of vaginal dryness at this age can make it easier for women to cope.”

The faculty member of Tehran University of Medical Sciences also emphasized: “Vaginal dryness is one of the most common symptoms of menopause in the age group of 40 to 65 years, however, this complication may be caused by other factors. “For example, some vaginal infections can lead to vaginal dryness at non-menopausal ages.”

Dr. Saffarzadeh warned that vaginal dryness increases the risk of vaginal infections and urinary tract infections in women. “The drier the vaginal tissues, the lower their acidity,” she said. Vaginal discharge, in addition to making the vagina slippery and lubricated, provides an acidic environment inside the vagina that has a protective effect against infections. Therefore, any substance that reduces the acidity of the vagina makes it more susceptible to infections. “Materials like vaginal douches are like this.”
