The most harmful mistakes in skin beauty

If there’s one thing that worries me about my patients, it’s that great skin doesn’t require a miracle cream made from rare marine plants. Rather, such a skin can be obtained only with a series of simple good habits. Let us discuss these habits from another perspective. What are the worst and most harmful habits that I have come across time and time again?

1- Use of cleaners, including harsh cleaners:

Most people assume that if a cleanser lathers a lot, it’s a good sign. This will definitely make their skin too clean. Unfortunately, a lot of foam is basically an indication that the cleanser contains harsh detergents. such as lauryl sulfate (which removes essential oils from the skin). (And to mold soaps that I have always said no to). Instead, look for cleansers that contain fatty acids and actually strengthen your skin, like Dove products or even simple cooling creams. If you have dry skin, I recommend oily cleansers that remove dirt and makeup without stripping your skin of its natural protective layer.

2- Not using retinoid:

Retinol, a form of vitamin A, is the only new compound that has been proven to not only prevent lines and wrinkles, but also reduce the lines and wrinkles you already have. After the age of 30, I recommend that you visit a dermatologist to prescribe stronger retinoids (such as Retin-A, Differin or Tazorek and the like). But there are many good creams that contain less retinol. Rock anti-wrinkle night cream Retinol Carexion, Neotregna night cream for healthy skin and Retinol Skin Therapeutics can be mentioned.

3- Spending a lot of time on skin care:

Buying expensive products with beautiful and luxurious packaging from boutiques may make you feel very good and classy, but you should know that they are not necessary to have perfect skin, because these companies spend a lot of money on unique research and development of their products. . If you have to choose these products, spend your money on retinoids and get the rest of your needs from the pharmacy with your doctor’s prescription.

4- Facial massage:

Yes, it is true that you can spend a lot of money on your skin care, massage your face and have smooth skin, but studies have shown that 80% of people’s skin is destroyed after a facial massage. Most estheticians do not know which product is suitable for which type of client’s skin and may use ingredients that make acne worse or use essential oils that irritate sensitive skin. Or the massage method is wrong, even if your skin is not damaged, maybe if the materials are chosen correctly or if the masseur is skilled, it will prevent your premature aging, but facial massage does not have a long-term effect on your skin.

5- Washing the face at the wrong time:

Always wash your face after washing with conditioner in the shower and with the products you use on your hair, not before. Most conditioners contain pore-clogging isopropyl, and other hair products often contain coconut oil, both known acne-causing ingredients that you don’t want to put on your skin. Washing your face too much causes the skin’s natural fat to be lost and makes the skin’s pH more susceptible to damage. Therefore, use mild cleansers and, if not available, lemon juice with a cotton ball at night before going to bed to remove your makeup.

6- Not using sunscreen every day:

Don’t use sunscreen only when you go to the beach or only on summer days, but every day. Yes, if you are going to be exposed to direct sunlight for a long time, you should be more careful. We are usually suddenly exposed to the sun’s UV rays for days at the seaside. They all come together when you get in or out of your car, step outside your workplace to buy a sandwich, or sit outside for a few moments. Make sure to cover your skin with at least SPF 15 sunscreen every day
