This Sweet Potato Juice Helps Control Blood Sugar, Balance Hormones And Strengthen The Immune System

Not many people are aware of the benefits sweet potato has to offer. Drinking fresh sweet potato juice will infuse your body with an incredible amount of vitamin A, C and B vitamins, as well as minerals like manganese, copper, biotin and potassium.

Vitamin B6 in sweet potatoes is necessary for reducing homocysteine levels in the body. This chemical has been linked to various degenerative diseases and heart attacks. Lack of this vitamin is also associated with chronic inflammation.

With their ability to reduce inflammation, and containing some of the highest vitamin C concentrations out of any tuber, sweet potatoes are natural immune system-boosters, helping to keep viruses and bacteria at bay.

Sweet potatoes and yams also have an estrogenic effect, and eating them can help postmenopausal women reduce their risk of breast cancer and cardiovascular disease.

But one of the most important benefits of sweet potato is their ability to improve blood sugar regulation – even in people with type 2 diabetes. Sweet potatoes help increase blood levels of adiponectin, a protein hormone produced by our fat cells that supports insulin metabolism. People who cannot regulate their insulin levels often have lower blood levels of adiponectin than individuals with healthy insulin metabolism.

Be sure to make this juice with organic sweet potatoes or yams. Most conventional sweet potatoes and yams are sprayed with harmful chemicals to prevent them from budding, and to extend shelf life.
