I’ve discovered a combination of ingredients that tastes like ice cream in a glass! A dragon fruit mango smoothie. The marshmallow-like flavour of dragon fruit mixed with the tropical sweetness of mango and dates make it something you’ll want again and again.
Dragon fruit is loaded with health benefits. It is a great source of calcium and phosphorous, both of which work together closely to help strengthen your bones and teeth and aid in tissue formation and repair. It is also very high in B vitamins to help support the formation and maintenance of nerve cells, and to help keep us alert and experience higher levels of mental clarity.
For this recipe you will, of course, need some dragon fruit. Dragon fruit are often white on the inside, with tiny black seeds, but sometimes you can find dragon fruit that are a vivid magenta colour. Use whatever you have available, but if you can find the pink dragon fruits, buy those!
Dragon Fruit Mango Smoothie Recipe
– 2 dragon fruit, peeled (some dragon fruits are pink inside! Choose whatever you have available)
– 1 cup mango, chopped
– 1 ripe, spotty banana
– 2 medjool dates, pitted
– 1 cup spinach
– 1 cup coconut water
Put all of the above ingredients in a blender, pulse blend and enjoy!
