Who doesn’t love apple pie? Now what about a raw apple pie smoothie that won’t have you feeling guilty after drinking it? With their availability essentially year-round, it is pretty easy to get your hands on some organic apples (especially pink lady – so tasty!) and construct a smoothie that takes only 5 minutes to make.

This smoothie is sweet and tart, and has absolutely no refined sugar or added chemicals that you would normally find in store-bought apple pie. When consuming apples in their raw state, they help to clean out the circulatory system and reduce bad cholesterol. They also prevent cataracts, improve skin quality, reduce your risk of asthma and make your teeth whiter. The pectin in apples also protects against colon cancer.

Raw Apple Pie Smoothie Recipe

Ingredients:

– 3 organic apples, cored and chopped (I used pink lady because they are my favourite)
– 1 ripe spotty banana
– 2 medjool dates, pitted
– 1 cup raw almond milk or coconut water
– 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
– 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
– 1/2 tsp. vanilla (I like the vanilla by Sunfood)

Method:

Place all of the above ingredients in a high-speed blender, and blend until smooth. Enjoy!
