He added: “In addition, skin eczema in childhood and adulthood, blisters and psoriasis are other common skin diseases in Iran.”
Psoriasis is one of the most common skin diseases in which the immune system of people with impaired signals, accelerates the growth of skin cells.

Normally, skin cells constantly move from the underlying layers to the surface, where they lose their nuclei and are excreted as dead scales from the body. Accelerated as a result, several layers of dead cells accumulate on the surface of the skin, forming the scales of psoriasis.
Reminding that Iran is one of the countries with the highest number of blister diseases, including pemphigus, Hanjani said: “The country’s dermatologists should do more serious treatment in this field.”

Pemphigus is a blister and a rare skin disease caused by a defect in the immune system and covers the skin and mucous membranes.
The exact cause of this disease is not yet known, but what happens in this disease can be defined as the loss of adhesion between the stratum corneum (keratinocytes).

Regarding the prevalence of skin cancers in the country, Hanjani said: “Basal cell carcinoma called basal cell carcinoma is more common in our country, which does not give metastasis (penetration to other tissues), and of course the incidence of this cancer in Iran with It is not much different from other countries in the world and is almost as big as the world average.
“Another type of skin cancer called melanoma is very common in European countries and the United States, which can be fatal, and the prevalence of this type of cancer in Iran is much lower than in Europe and the United States,” said the vice president of the Iranian Association of Dermatologists.

Basal cell carcinoma is the most common form of skin cancer that almost never spreads to other tissues in the body, but it can still grow and invade surrounding tissue.
Melanoma is the most malignant skin cancer and originates from skin melanocytes that are prone to malignancy.
Melanocytes naturally produce dark pigments in the skin, hair, eyes and moles.
